武當(dāng)山有許多的宮殿，有紫霄殿 復(fù)真觀 太和殿 金殿還有許多的宮殿。復(fù)真觀一座五層高樓中，有一柱支撐十二根梁枋的結(jié)構(gòu)奇特的杰作；九曲黃河墻可傳遞聲音，與北京天壇回音壁異曲同工；轉(zhuǎn)身殿里的大鐘在撞擊時殿內(nèi)幾無聲息，而殿外卻分明聽到鐘聲裊裊；山巔那座銅鑄鎏金的金殿是一件工藝珍品，圍繞著它有幾大奇觀，其中之一為“雷火煉殿”：古時金殿未有避雷設(shè)施，雷雨天時，金殿四周往往電光閃爍，火球翻滾，景象絢麗萬千，而每次雷擊過后金殿不僅分毫未損，而且燦然如新……凡此種種使人不由得為古人的智慧發(fā)出由衷贊嘆。

附故事一則：朱元璋與武當(dāng)山
明朝開國皇帝朱元璋與武當(dāng)山有什么關(guān)系，他為什么信奉玄天上帝？張三豐是否真有其人，明成祖朱棣為什么會大興武當(dāng)？《武當(dāng)瑞應(yīng)圖錄》記載了哪些祥瑞故事，玄帝顯靈又是怎么回事呢？武當(dāng)山金殿是明朝第三個皇帝朱棣建造的，但是在民間的傳說中，認為朱元璋和武當(dāng)山也有關(guān)系?！豆沤駡D書集成》中就講了這樣一個故事。說朱元璋年輕的時候，曾經(jīng)到武當(dāng)山燒香，返回途中遇到滁州人陳也先在武當(dāng)山下設(shè)擂臺。朱元璋上臺，三拳兩腳，把陳也先打到臺下。陳也先不服氣，就帶領(lǐng)幾百人，追趕朱元璋。朱元璋的好朋友徐達、湯和、鄧愈等人，為朱元璋拼死抵擋，把陳也先的手下抵擋住了。朱元璋就跑到了武當(dāng)山下一個叫草殿的地方，在殿后面睡覺，這時他聽到很多人進到這個殿里。其中有陳也先的聲音，他想要是再跑的話，又會被發(fā)現(xiàn)，于是他一把火把這個殿燒了。朱元璋在回家的路上，武當(dāng)山的玄天上帝給他托夢，說你為什么把我的殿給燒了。朱元璋也覺得自己不該燒這個殿，但是為了躲避追兵，也沒有辦法。他說將來天下太平了，我賠償給你一個金殿。
從一些歷史記載中我們也可以發(fā)現(xiàn)朱元璋的家庭與道教有著密切的關(guān)系。朱元璋的祖父是一個農(nóng)民，信奉道教，傳說有一天他在村口楊家墩的一個地窩里睡覺，聽到兩個道士的談話，一個說這個地方風(fēng)水很好，要是有人埋在這里，兒孫將來要出天子。另一個不信，于是打賭。第一個道士說，我在這個地方插一個柳樹枝，明天發(fā)芽了我贏。朱元璋的爺爺聽到了，第二天一大早，就跑去一看，柳樹枝果然發(fā)出了新芽。他把發(fā)芽的柳樹枝拿走，換了一根枯樹枝插在那里。后來他交代自己死后就要葬在那個地方。
這也可能是朱元璋為了說明他是真命天子，用道士看風(fēng)水這個故事來演繹君權(quán)神授。朱元璋家里很窮，他不可能請道士看風(fēng)水，用偷聽到的事情，來詮釋他是真命天子。
不僅是朱元璋的祖父信道教，他母親，他外公都非常信奉道教。朱元璋的外公在當(dāng)?shù)厥且粋€有法術(shù)的道士，據(jù)說有一次被元兵抓到海上去了，天上狂風(fēng)暴雨，海浪翻滾，他站在船上作法，風(fēng)暴很快就平息了。還有一個傳說是朱元璋的母親在懷朱元璋的時候，經(jīng)常做一些很奇怪的夢。朱元璋出生的前一天，他母親在麥場上睡著了，夢見有一個道士從西北邊走過來，這個道士穿著紅色的道袍，留著很長的胡子，頭上還戴著冠，手里拿著一個白色的藥丸。道士說這是金丹大藥，給了朱陳氏一顆，朱陳氏把它吞到口中。這都是夢中的事，但是醒了以后，就感覺到滿口余香，經(jīng)宿不散，整天晚上嘴巴里面都有一股香味，不停的彌漫。第二天朱元璋就出生了。而且出生的時候是紅光滿天，不少人以為那個地方失火了。因為朱元璋后來是明朝的皇帝，日月代表光明。
朱元璋起兵打仗，投靠的是在濠州一帶很有名的起義軍郭子興，他在郭子興部下提拔很快，郭子興還把自己的養(yǎng)女馬氏嫁給了朱元璋，就是后來的馬皇后。郭子興死了之后，朱元璋到了南京，建立的是吳國，稱吳國公。這時朱元璋面臨的最大威脅不是北方的元朝，而是陳友諒的部隊。這時陳友諒建立了一個新的藩國叫“漢”。并在九江建造大軍艦，準備從長江中游向南京進攻。陳友諒這種野心，使他非常難受，他決定首先對付陳友諒。
公元1361年前后，朱元璋發(fā)動大軍西征九江。陳友諒當(dāng)時的勢力非常強大，結(jié)果如何朱元璋心里也沒有數(shù)。剛好戰(zhàn)船準備出發(fā)的時候，有幾萬只烏鴉圍繞著這個船的桅桿不停地轉(zhuǎn)，士兵非常害怕，人心開始騷動。因為在中國人的習(xí)俗中烏鴉是和死亡聯(lián)系在一起的。這個時候朱元璋講話了，說這個烏鴉不代表死亡，而是武當(dāng)山玄天上帝的烏鴉神兵，烏鴉往這兒飛就意味著，玄天上帝要支持我吳國打敗漢國。船隊航進的途中，在旗艦的船舵上發(fā)現(xiàn)了龜蛇，這也被解釋成武當(dāng)山真武神保佑朱元璋軍隊的一種信號，一種信息。
朱元璋向西進伐的過程當(dāng)中，一路攻城掠地，占領(lǐng)了不少地方。最終雙方的決戰(zhàn)是在鄱陽湖展開。鄱陽湖之戰(zhàn)當(dāng)中也發(fā)生了很奇怪的事，一次朱元璋的旗艦眼看就要被陳友諒弟弟的戰(zhàn)船趕上了，朱元璋的戰(zhàn)船卻擱淺在湖邊上，焦急萬分的時刻一陣大風(fēng)，桅桿剛好扯滿了風(fēng)帆，船向前劃動，逃脫了追擊。后來朱元璋取得了鄱陽湖之戰(zhàn)的決定性勝利。戰(zhàn)爭當(dāng)中有利的風(fēng)勢、火勢，包括電閃雷鳴，都被解釋成為武當(dāng)山玄天上帝保佑朱元璋的一種征兆，一種顯應(yīng)。
朱元璋取得了南征北戰(zhàn)的勝利，最后定都南京。他在南京祭祀的一共有九個神，其中放在第一位就是真武神，就是武當(dāng)山的玄天上帝。
朱元璋除了我們所說的認為自己在打仗的過程當(dāng)中，得到玄天上帝保佑之外，在他當(dāng)皇帝以后，對武當(dāng)山的道士，也格外的重視。明朝初年有很多人，不愿意給朱元璋當(dāng)官，朱元璋就從民間征集那些有才華的人到朝廷任職。武當(dāng)山全真派一個道士丘玄清修復(fù)五龍宮，宣揚武當(dāng)?shù)澜痰呐e動，受到官府的重視。后來就被推薦到朝廷，朱元璋超破格提拔，任命他為江西監(jiān)察御史。當(dāng)了幾年以后，進南京面見朱元璋，朱元璋說這個道士，非常有修養(yǎng)，也很有文化，生活也很嚴謹，于是又任命他做太常寺卿，一下子由五品官提拔為三品官，成為當(dāng)時朝廷的九卿之一，專門負責(zé)朝廷祭祀天地的禮儀。丘玄清從武當(dāng)山五龍宮調(diào)了很多道士，到南京的神樂觀當(dāng)樂武神，就是專門負責(zé)祭祀天地時奏樂、唱詩。
每次祭祀天地的時候，朱元璋要住在齋宮里面，齋戒沐浴三天。丘玄清就跟朱元璋談道教的典籍，武當(dāng)山的名人、神奇等等。
朱元璋從丘玄清這兒知道張三豐。洪武二十三年的時候，朱元璋的第十八個兒子，襄王朱柏到武當(dāng)山進香，非常想找張三豐見一面，結(jié)果張三豐不見。襄王朱柏非常沮喪，寫了一首詩：“張玄玄，愛神仙。朝飲九渡之清流，暮宿南巖之紫煙。好山劫來知幾載，不與景物同推遷。我向空山尋不見，徒凄然!孤廬空寂大松里，獨有老彌松下眠”。
第二年，朱元璋在全國清理道教，對派往全國各地的清理道教的人說，道教里面有一個神仙叫張三豐，你們要是遇到了，可以給我請過來。所以說朱元璋對武當(dāng)山的道士張三豐也是給予了特別的注意。雖然他沒有找到張三豐，但是他對張三豐的關(guān)注，也使他的兒子，像后來的燕王朱棣，他的兒子襄王，還有其他的一些人，對武當(dāng)山的張三豐也給予了格外的關(guān)注。
